ABS-CBN News has reported that the release of Toni Gonzaga’s upcoming movie might be delayed after 29 Star Cinema crew members were involved in the sinking of passenger ship SuperFerry 9 last Sunday, September 6, 2009. Fernando “Ronnie” Estrada, cameraman for Star Cinema, died during the said maritime accident.

According the film director, Wenn Deramas, shooting for “Ang Tanging Pamilya” would only resume after the 28 Star Cinema crew members recover from their traumatic experience. The crew members are now in Manila and are being given medical attention and also undergoing counseling. Cast member and Former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada has promised to give assistance to the family of the late Fernando “Ronnie” Estrada.

The film is scheduled to be shown in theaters nationwide on October 14, 2009.

“Wala pang kalahati [ang nasho-shoot sa movie]… Hindi ko alam kung kakayanin ang October 14 play date,” he told reporters during a special mass for the Star Cinema crew on Wednesday at ABS-CBN’s Dolphy Theater.

“Ang Tanging Pamilya” also stars Sam Milby, Ai-ai delas Alas, Former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada, and Dionisia Pacquiao.
